GLP-1R and Biased Agonism

PURPOSE: Still image targeting the medical professional audience. This piece focuses on GLP-1 and its receptor, GLP-1R. GLP-1 is a hormone released from the gut upon food intake and interacts with its receptor in the pancreas. These molecules are involved in the stimulation of insulin secretion, making GLP-1R a significant target for potential treatment of diabetes and obesity. Poster highlights specific residues that are important in the pharmacology of GLP-1R and are important in understanding how to create novel therapeutics.
