American Journal of Bioethics Mock Cover: “Digital Smart Pill”

PURPOSE: Editorial illustration mock cover for the American Journal of Bioethics. Illustration based on abstract for an article regarding the ethics of smart pills and self acting devices in the new realm of digital medicine. Smart pills contain microchips that when ingested and hit stomach acid, send out a signal to the patients doctor and others recipients of the patients’ choosing telling them that they’ve taken their medication. The concept for this illustration revolves around this monitoring as a sort of “biomedical big brother” situation.
